What To Do When Your Home Floods

6/11/2019 (Permalink)

Whether it be plumbing issues or a natural disaster, water can do some serious damage to your home. Your floors, ceilings, walls, even your personal belongings can all be affected. That is why it is important to act quickly when you discover a flood in your home.

First and foremost, if it is safe to do so, shut off your water supply. Try to dry up as much water as possible to avoid severe water damage or mold growth. Then, call SERVPRO! We offer 24/7 emergency service so that you never have to handle this on your own, no matter what time or day. If there is a lot of standing water that needs immediate extraction, we can handle that! We also come prepared with equipment to help dry down the affected areas right away which, is highly recommended. The quicker you start drying, the better.

While we are there, we will do our best to locate the cause. If we can not, then we recommend you call a plumber or leak detection company to help determine the cause. Once that is determined, have it fixed right away. Trying to dry down your home while your water is still leaking is nearly impossible so, having it fixed is very important.

Depending on the amount of damage or cause of leak, we recommend you consider filing a claim with your insurance.

Once you have done all of that, we here at SERVPRO will take care of the restoration! We'll monitor your home daily to ensure the areas are drying quickly and efficiently. We'll complete all that is needed to be done in order to restore your home and/or contents correctly so no problems arise in the future. We'll communicate with your insurance company every step of the way. And of course, we'll make sure all of your questions are answered and your concerns are gone over.

And lastly, we'll make it "Like it never even happened."
