Commercial water damage may go undetected longer than residential damage. It is also often more complex due to the size of commercial buildings. If the cause of water damage is caught early on most problems can be prevented.

A leaky roof can damage to the ceiling, cause mildew or mold damage and can also compromise the integrity of the structure. Make sure windows are properly sealed.

Inspect HVAC system for wear. Check foundation for cracks and proper drainage. Sprinkler systems should be inspected regularly for leaks or moisture.  

Check the foundation of the building for any cracks that may be letting water in. Be sure there is adequate drainage sloping away from the structure.
