Sneaky Mold Problems

Mold can be very sneaky. When we say sneaky, we mean, it will grow in hidden places that you would never think it could be. In this photo , you can see that behind a cabinet there was mold found. Not just any mold, BLACK mold. One of the most dangerous out there. Don't ever assume you do not have mold growing in your home because you can not see it. Be cautious and always keep an eye out for it...in hidden places too!

Mold can be found and almost grow anywhere. Mold commonly grows where moisture is present. The spores they reproduce are carried by air currents. Once they land on a surface suitable for life, usually a moist area, they will begin to grow.

Control the Mold

Mold comes in many different colors, shapes, and sizes and will continue to grow until you put a stop to it. Don't let mold take over your home, have it contained and treated as soon as possible. The health defects that mold can cause are very harmful and could be deadly. Don't wait until you start having symptoms of mold exposure, call us today, so we can begin mold mitigation. Trust us, a little will turn into a lot! So, who are you going to call? Mold busters! Or should we say SERVPRO!

"Tented" Air Scrubber

After mold is physically removed from its source, the air should be cleaned of airborne mold spores using HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) air scrubbers.

Exhausting HEPA-filtered air out of the space creating and maintaining negative pressure within that space. This helps ensure that any air leakage between the contained area and adjacent spaces will be “clean” air flowing in and not “dirty” air flowing out.

Bedroom affected by Mold

This bedroom was victim of mold infestation. The mold was caused by water loss in the walls. Sounds like a job for SERVPRO! That is exactly what the home owners were thinking. They gave us a call and we began remediation right away. SERVPRO is always here to save the day!

Mold Containment

Containment is the key to proper mold remediation. Keeping the contaminated area closed off while remediation is in progress is crucial so mold spores don't spread into the unaffected areas.

Running air scrubbers both on the inside and outside of the containment helps when entering or exiting the contained area.
