In this blog we will be talking about another service we bet you didn't know we could do, Soda blasting. Soda blasting is for heavy duty cleaning jobs such as removing paint, corrosion, and gunk. How does it work you ask? First, you load the soda blaster with bicarbonate, also known as baking soda. Then you turn on the blaster, which has a built in air compressor that creates a power wash with a baking soda scrub that helps tackle the toughest cleaning jobs.

When it comes to lead paint removal, it isn't as simple as you think. Lead was put into paint to speed up the drying, increase durability, maintain a fresh appearance, and resist moisture that caused corrosion.Then the manufacturers later found out, as most of us know, lead is a metal that can cause serious health problems if ingested or inhaled as it is very toxic. With that being said, you must be very careful and cautious when removing lead-based paints from any surface. The Ozone in action! You can't see it, but the oxidization process is in full affect.

In this blog we will be talking about a piece of equipment we use often, our Ozone Generator.  What is that and how does it work you ask? Well, for starters the Ozone Generator was created to disinfect, deodorize, remove, or kill irritating particles that are airborne in indoor environments such as a home. The Ozone generates Ozone aka O3 or Trioxygen. Ozone is a molecule that is so strong, it kills organic materials such as odors from cigarettes or a fire (also known as the oxidation process) These little machines can actually be very harmful to humans, animals, or any living thing. So, when you need an indoor space deodorized, leave it to the Pros of SERVPRO of course! We will provide the ozone generator, place it in the home or room that needs to be deodorized and seal the area. Before we begin the process, we do require that no residents or pets stay in or around the affected area. We typically recommend that you stay out of the house for at least 24 hours before returning home. Once the process is complete, you will not be disappointed! The odor will be gone! When we go into a "large loss" , this means that the loss is so large that we need the help of our Disaster Recovery Team. They have all that is needed to help us out. On a Sunday night this dental office was unexpectedly flooded due to a broken fire sprinkler. As you can see, it left a dirty trail of water throughout the entire practice. They needed help right away. Luckily for them, there is a company that can dry ,clean, and be there on a Sunday night and that company is SERVPRO. We got the call and arrived right away. Began extracting all the water that we could then placed drying equipment. For the next few days after that we monitored the drying to make sure everything was on the right track , and cleaned all the dirt and oil left behind from the sprinkler water. We had this office clean, dry and, back to business in no time. The owner of the practice was thrilled with how quickly and efficiently we got the job done. We were happy to help because we are always here to help! No matter the date or time we will be there.

This photo is a prime example of that. There was a leak coming from the HVAC unit in this building. The leak somehow caused rusty water to leak out onto the front of the building. That leak left rusty colored residue all on the side of the building. This business owner knew just who to call to get the job done right. We came in, cleaned it all up, and left the building looking like new. Like it never even happened.

When we start a job whether it be fire, water, mold, or a simple carpet clean, our crew is trained to keep their eyes peeled for any other concerning issues that we can help fix. The photo that is displayed is one that came from a very happy customer's home. We went in to start a water mitigation and dry down. When we removed cabinets to make sure that the back of those were dry, we found none other than black mold. One of the most toxic out there. We immediately notified the owner and her adjuster, then contained it right away so that it could not spread into any other areas. We not only left the home owner's kitchen dry, we also treated the mold. The home owner was so pleased, she called in to say, in her words, "Thank you for taking the time to go that extra step, if it hadn't been for that, I would have never known there was mold in my kitchen." That call confirmed that our mission was accomplished!
